Einer meiner Lieblingsbands zieht mir dann wohl nochmal das Geld aus der Tasche. Nach ihrer Auflösung im Jahre 2018 und ihrer Farewell-Tour veröffentlichen Minus The Bear aus Seattle zum imaginären 20jährigen Bandbestehen nochmal ein äußerst delikat klingendes Package – glaubt man zumindest dem Hörbeispiel eines ihrer ersten Hits “Absinthe Party At The Fly Warehouse”. Mit dem Live-Album “Farewell” verabschieden sich Minus The Bear dann nach eigener Aussage endgültig. Obwohl ich mir sicher bin, dass da nochmal irgendwann eine Deluxe-Reissue kommen wird. Jedenfalls ist “Farewell” ein Live-Best-of von eben jener letzten Farewell-Tour 2018. Satte 3 LPs mit insgesamt 26 Tracks. Darunter Hits wie “Drilling”, “Into The Mirror”, “Pachuca Sunrise” oder “Knights”. Dazu gesellen sich besonders live in Erinnerung gebliebene Songs wie “Cold Company” oder “Spritz!!!Spritz!!!”.
“We are thrilled to finally announce something we’ve been working on for the last couple of years since we said ‘farewell.’ The final tour truly encapsulated our 17 years together as a band and has been a fond memory to look back on throughout these past few years, the recent ones especially.” so schreiben Minus The Bear in ihrem Newsletter.
“Farewell” wird am 29. Oktober 2021 auf Suicide Squeeze Records erscheinen. Die auf 500 bzw. 600 Stück jeweils limitierten Vinyls in rot und gold sind bereits ausverkauft. Das vinyl in betongrau ist dagegen noch zu haben. Der Pre-Order ist also bereits gestartet.
