Ab heute steht nach 15 Jahren wieder ein American Nightmare Album in den Plattenregalen. Das selbstbetitelte Album ist in Gründerbesetzung entstanden. schon Ende 2017 wurde American Nightmares Rückkehr bekanntgegeben. Das Album erscheint via Rise Records und wurde von Schlagzeuger Alex Garcia-Rivera in der Heimat in Boston aufgenommen. Sänger Wes Eishold, Bassist Josh Holden und Gitarrist Brian Masek vervollständigen das Original-Line-Up von 2004. Mit 9 Songs und keinen 20 Minuten Spielzeit ist es hardcoremäßig kurz gehalten. Das mittig platzierte Trio American Death, War oder Gloom Forever schlägt ultra heftig ein und beschreibt ganz gut den 2018er Metal-Hardcore. Lower Than Life schiebt sich da mehr in Richtung Punk-Hardcore und erinnert in Struktur mehr an einen ordentlichen Pitcircle. In Crises Of Faith dröhnt mehr Rootsrock und Crossover durch als erwartet. American Nightmare bescheren in 19 Minuten ein Rundum-Komplett-Paket allererster Sahne.
Statement von Wes Eishold: “This is a new start, it really is. We are now in the band we always wanted American Nightmare to be with the lineup, the songs, and the name back. It feels full circle in the sound of the music referenced earlier, but it also feels complete in that we took the reigns of the band and its past and made a new American Nightmare album … and now we are ready to move forward with it.”
